Every once in a while a project comes along so auspicious in scope that it gives one pause. Such was the case with The Complete New Yorker – an 8 DVD-ROM collection containing every single page of the magazine’s 80 year history – over 4,000 fully searchable editions, 500,000 printed pages.
Working closely with Software development company Bondi Digital Publishing and the New Yorker, Giant implemented the 50 Gigabyte DVD-ROM integration of the project’s eight DVD-9s. The DVD set integrates Macrovision’s safedisc technology and is compatible with both Mac and PC. Each of the DVDs are nestled smartly in the back of a beautiful hardbound coffee table book which showcases highlights from the magazine's 8 decade long history.
"...the idea of being able to own eight DVDs containing every page of the 4,109 issues of the weekly magazine published between February 1925 and February 2005 is life-changing." — Mimi Avins, Los Angeles Times
